FAB POP-UP store

Three years ago Patricia and me as representatives of designmetropole aachen founded a society we called 'FAB - Fashion Across Borders' together with Mode Museum Hasselt in Belgium and fashionclash in Maastricht The Netherlands.
We defined as our goal to give young fashion designers from our region a visibility push and strong networking experiencse with the regional fashion industry, store owners, politicians, administration, customers etc.
One of our means would be setting up temporary Pop-Up-Stores in different cities of our region of north-east Belgium, southern Netherlands and the very west of Germany.
After the great successes in Hasselt 2011 and in Maastricht 2012, Aachen is the # 3 edition of the fabulous FAB store.
We will showcase and sell designs by 34 (!) jury-selected designers.
Supported by the ministry of cultural affairs of North-Rhine-Westphalia, the department of economic affairs of the city of Aachen, the city of Hasselt, Sparkasse Aachen and our friend and mentor Volker Lang.

Redesign Aachen Fraktion did an awesome job kidnapping the flags of aachen's world class LudwigForum museum for international modern art and replacing them with IKEA flags.

Lately me and Patricia of designmetropole aachen have been busy developing a concept for Gründerzentrum Kulturwirtschaft: A series of events to match creatives with industrials, researchers and public authorities.
In pitch dark.
No status symbols, no powerplay gestures. Just your voice. Direct. Personal. And listen well!
We believe in sympathetic interpersonal contacts. They last longer and are more profound than pure target oriented biz meets.
